Last week I mused I would get rid of this rose bush. It's very beautiful when it flowers for two weeks in May and June but then mainly it takes up an entire bed for the rest of the year. And I could make much better use of the bed. So, that was the plan and I thought I make a start on cutting it back but lo! For the first time ever it has produced a single flower and a couple of buds outside its standard flowering two weeks. So, a stay of execution it is.

A boiling day, I sorted the duvet cover cupboard out which had been annoying me, did some cooking, finished my book, watched the end of the cycling. Then went to busy beach, the sea continues to be filled with seaweed and is frankly too warm. But there was a nice breeze and it was altogether cooler.
