Lift bridge

Our morning excursion to one of the leisure lakes was frustrating in that we walked down several woodland paths leading to the lake only to find them all blocked. It eventually transpired that no access was being allowed in the second half of August in preparation for a big outdoor concert. After lunch we tried driving to the other side of the lake but the beach was packed and noisy so we went to the village of Weesp for a walk along the canal, ice cream and drinks. We avoided Amsterdam today because of the heat, but perhaps we will go tomorrow.
