Golf at Davos Golf Course
We did not watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics last night as we were busy getting supper prepared for everyone and then enjoying our last dinner with our friends. They thoroughly enjoyed their time with us and spending quality time with two of our three boys and Meriel. In our household when the boys are around there is always a debate going on, about current topics and world affairs. I think our friends were kept entertained as there is always some interesting discourse going on, with various views flying around. They enjoyed getting involved in the discussions too! Our friends left after breakfast this morning, it was a short but busy stay for them.
This morning I caught up and watched Tom Cruise taking the Olympic flag to LA - I think the LA Olympics will be spectacular, and we are now thinking it would be fun to go to those Olympics, as Adam will be living nearby at the time. Possibly…maybe?
It was another hot and sunny day today. The boys were saying they cannot remember a summer in Switzerland with weather as good as this. Gavin and I have been here for over 4 weeks now and we have had good weather every single day, which is quite something. I can never say that about many other places. The quality of the air and the clear blue skies are just wonderful here. The new school term (and year) starts today here in Switzerland so it will be quieter now although I can hardly say it has been busy - we love coming here as it is so quiet, we often do hikes when we don't see other people or maybe just a handful of people at best. And talking about hikes - jeez loueez but I was stiff and a bit achey this morning after yesterday’s massive hike, not sure how many more years I can manage that one! It is classified as a more strenuous hike than the ones we usually do. I think the heat did not help and despite lots of suntan cream we are all looking rather suntanned.
We had a quiet morning, did some grocery shopping and then had lunch at home. After lunch Gavin, Adam Luke and I went to play 18 holes of golf at the Davos Golf Course. It was only possible to be away for some length of time to play 18 holes as Meriel took Xena for a walk and looked after her while we were away. Meriel also very kindly made supper so when we arrived back at 8pm it was lovely to come home to a cooked dinner.
