Swift
I let nature work its magic for me today and was rewarded with a new species - a Swift Feather-legged Fly. I saw it land in a wild part of my garden and then carefullyy crept up on it through some fairly heavy vegetation. Fortunately, I was carrying the d850 with macro lens which was perfect for capturing some nice shots. I also enjoyed some time with the hummingbirds. The weather was beautiful today - sunny, temps in the high 70's, very low humidity and a nice breeze. I made sure to take some time to sit quietly with my eyes closed, just listening to all the sounds of nature. I am not feeling quite so anxious as I was yesterday, thankfully.
A couple of friends have offered to pray for my friend who is going through something awful - and I gratefully accepted. Although I am not religious, I have faith in those who are and the power of their prayers. And I am sorry for being so cryptic, but this isn't mine to share right now.
We got a call from the roofer who is able to get us on the schedule for this week, either Wednesday or Thursday. They say it will be a one day job if all goes well. Will be good to have it done and behind us.
I released a perfect monarch butterfly today in memory of a former Blipper. I was able to walk around the garden with him perched on my finder while I told him about the person he is honoring - I find so much comfort in things like this, silly as they may seem to some. Photo of the butterfly in Extra. I've not collected as many monarch eggs as usual this summer but will probably have about 20 butterflies to release.
Dark with cashews (thanks to KangaZu and her wonderful husband).
