Brimstone

It was a very hot day. This afternoon I visited my Mother. The Care Home seemed to be in a kind of stupor with twenty of the residents gathered  in the lounge playing/dozing through a game of egg box bingo. Usually they would be keen to be engaged in more intellectually challenging activities,  but not today! Afterwards, I  managed to get my Mother to  join me for a walk around the garden.
However, my Blip is of a Brimstone  butterfly on the  Everlasting Pea flowers, in my own garden. There are still not many butterflies  about: a few Peacocks, Gatekeepers, and Common Blues, but mostly Brimstones. Still no Small Tortoiseshells.
Late tonight,we ventured into the garden to look for shooting stars,as the  Perseid meteor shower is at its most active  this week. We did see a few bright streaks above our heads, while around  our feet hordes of slugs and snails were wreaking  havoc on the herbaceous plants. Sadly we don't have hedgehogs visiting us to feast on the molluscs. While we  could  gather  up the snails and slugs,  how best to dispose of them humanely ?
