Memories
I always remember my father - in his eighties - telling me how he felt exactly the same as he did as a teenager. He couldn’t understand where all the years had gone and regaled us with stories of his rich and fulfilled life. The sepia photos of mum and dad on their wedding day, on their honeymoon in York or picnicking on the beach with friends still live in my mind as well as in the albums upstairs, waiting for me to digitalise them for posterity.
Now I understand exactly what he meant. Memories concertina years into a single image - long ago teenage years, university, weddings, parenthood with all its joys and frustrations, work and travel. And memories are captured in photographs - so many, especially of more recent years. I suspect blippers will have more than most.
It’s hard to choose photos that best represent memories, but I’ve gone for a double exposure of us on our wedding day and on our Ruby Wedding six years ago.
