TINY TUESDAY - BUT OFF THEME - AS USUAL!
As you may remember, I’m doing an extra shift each week in August at the Community Fridge, but before I went this morning, I had a wander around the garden, whilst it was still quite cool.
I saw these beautiful flowers on the Climbing French beans - and thought how good Mr. HCB was to choose some in my favourite colour! The tiny bean was only about an inch long, but I thought it would enjoy having its 15 minutes of fame on Blip today.
Apparently, the beans are a variety called “Cobra” - and I prefer to call them climbing French beans, rather than their botanical name of “Phaseolus vulgaris” and I can confirm that they do have an “exceptional flavour” as it says on the packet; I boiled them and mixed them with some rice to go with our marinated chicken breasts last night and Mr. HCB pronounced the meal “very good” - so I guess he may even let me cook again this evening!
It was extremely busy and very hot at the Community Fridge today and after chatting to lots of lovely customers, I ended up doing a particularly grotty job - but it needed to be done and I did it. I just hope that I don’t need to do it again next week!
Take care and stay cool in this heat - Mr. HCB is hoping it won’t be quite as hot tomorrow when he is at cricket in Bristol - but says he will be looking around for some shade. Meanwhile, I will be resting most of the day, before another session at the Community Fridge on Thursday.
P.S. I have put in an extra of three beautiful David Austin roses, “Queen of Sweden” - I saw the buds earlier in the week and they looked so lovely I thought I would add them to today’s Blip.
