First Frog
Earlier in the so called summer the twins went with one of their friends and her two sisters up to Cornalees for an afternoon in the sun, they played and got wet in the burns and Loch Thom but all had a blast. The whole object of the expedition and exploration was to collect frog spawn which would then be tended by all concerned until they hatched and nurtured hopefully until frogs resulted.
The tank was duly delivered to the twins (mum and dad) three weeks ago when our friends departed for a summer holiday and in fairness the twins have daily taken an interest in the progress of their charges. They have fed them checked the water level, ensured there was shade in the blistering sun anf generally shown an interest which was nice to see. Today was a great day for them as when it came to water changing the first proper tailless frog was spotted, Fraser being a typical boy was right in there hands cupping the little creature and taking the time to watch it as it explored his hands, it climbed the heel of his hand, its movement like spiderman according to Fraser as he would scale a building, I was instructed to Blip the little guy and who was I to disappoint.
The tank will be going back to their other home later in the week so it was appropriate that the first frog features!!
For those who may have a phobia I apologise but the twins have got so much out of this little biology experiment and it was only right it was documented for them with a Blip
