"Do you want to buy any pegs ?"

My lovely dad as he came home from his walk this morning, he stands in the doorway and tells mum where he's walked then he always asks if she wants to buy some pegs ?

This is something I remember from my youth, we used to have gypsies who called selling pegs, I always wondered if they put a curse on you if you didn't buy !!

Mum usually says no she has enough, or sometimes she just smiles as she too probably remembers the gypsies and their doorstep peg selling.

Dad always smiles back, ruffles her hair and gives her a kiss ...
