My little weeping Japanese Maple

In autumn I will move it from the current pot to a bigger pot, the tall pot I have put the current pot in.

Ukrainian soldiers are providing humanitarian aid to Russian civilians in Kursk. They are giving food and water and setting up evacuation corridors. They are making a point of it.

In days Ukraine took as much territory as Russia has taken since in Ukraine so far this year.

The incursion is messing up railways in Russia. The Moscow Times says this is the result of large scale troop transfers to Kursk, using all available locomotives.

Ukraine has just accepted the largest surrender of Russian troops since Russia re-invaded. In one location 102 soldiers who had ample weapons and food so they surrendered (my opinion, not anyone else’s) because they wanted to. Ukraine has captured 1,200 Russian troops over the course of their invasion of Russia which is in its NINTH DAY.

Ukraine carried out a missile strike on a military convoy that destroyed a bunch of vehicles and their weapons and ammunition. More prisoners of war for Ukraine.

$293 million Russian bomber exploded after take off. The crew ejected and survived.

Britain said Ukraine can use British donated weapons inside Russia. (This doesn’t include the Storm Shadow ((nice name)) missiles.)

Save Ukraine carried out another rescue operation from occupied Kherson and brought back two more families with children.

Ukrainian high jump gold medalist Yaroslava Mahuchikh, “Sleeping Beauty” of Paris 2024 Olympics, donated 1M UAH (approximately $25,000) from her 2024 Paris Games prize to support UAnimals and four shelters.

Anna Ursakii is a Ukrainian refugee in the UK. She just achieved four A* in her A-levels. I am an American and don’t really know what that means other than the kids in Harry Potter seemed to have something similar. She got these top grades in biology, chemistry, math, and physics. She got an A in computer science, so I guess an A is different from an A*.  Brighton College took 20 Ukrainian children on full scholarships, including her, which is how she got to the UK. But the US wins too! She is going to MIT.
