Bo Ningen

There is a rather expensive digital piano that has been taking up space and gathering dust in Dan's bedroom for several years and today I finally moved it down to the studio in Salford, where I'm hoping Hannah will be able to make use of it.

That job done, the Minx and I drove over to Hebden Bridge at lunchtime to a rather cute AirBnb that the Minx booked at the last minute after our planned host let us down*.

After work I did a run going up into the hills a bit and down into Mytholmroyd, where I ran along behind the railway track, before cutting back down to the canal. (It was only when I looked back over my shoulder that I realised that I'd just run past what was once the house of a friend of mine, long since returned to Canada.)

And so to the first of the reasons that we were in Hebden Bridge: Bo Ningen.

It's a nice reassurance that you've made the right connubial decision when your wife asks "Do you fancy seeing some Japanese Psych-Rock?" And so it was that we went along to see Bo Bingen at the Trades Hall, this evening.

My photo is ridiculously unrepresentative of the band and their furiously energetic performance. You can get a better idea of them here.

Suffice to say that we had an absolute blast.

*And cheekily suggested we cancel the booking, which would have given us only 50% of our money back. However, her plans were foiled by the Minx.
