the Galloway car
I was back at work in the cafe today and we were pretty busy, with lots of families making the most of the last few days of the school holidays.
At the shop, I bought tickets for a play which is to be performed at The Usual Place on 12th October. It's all about Dorotheè Pullinger "the pioneer who built a car for women, by women". The car, pictured above, was called the Galloway, and was built in Tongland, near Kirkcudbright. Dorotheè led an interesting life, and must have been a very determined woman. I took the photo from a page in this month's "Dumfries and Galloway Life" magazine, in which there is an article all about her and about the play, which was written by Dave Dewar.
