On My Own

Mrs C has gone to Durham for the weekend, with a friend, so I’ve been left home alone. I went to the gym this morning but didn’t do a lot as my muscles were still aching from Wednesday’s somewhat strenuous PT session.
I spent a good part of the afternoon trying to video myself playing a couple of guitar riffs that I’ve been messing around with. Annoyingly, I can string quite a few bars together if I just play but, as soon as I start to concentrate because I know it’s being recorded, I get slightly lost and grind to a halt temporarily. I sent it to Stuart and fortunately he gets where I’m coming from and will see if he can develop it into something over the weekend.
This evening I went out to a friend’s 40th birthday party (he’s the chap in the shadows on the left of the picture) at Ruskins. He’d booked a live band and they were pretty good, playing a good range of covers that had everyone (not me!) up and dancing.
An early start for me tomorrow so I made my excuses and left once the second set was underway. It was good to hear live music again though - I’ve not played at or been to a gig for a few weeks now.
