Good luck Dave
I said goodbye to my friend Dave today. He’s off to start a new life in Dorset, nearer to his family.
We met at the same gym for people with dodgy hearts and lungs a few years ago. In between huffing and puffing on the rowing machines, we discovered a mutual love of music.
Dave’s a great saxophone player and we collaborated on a few videos of jazz standards — me providing the images and Dave providing the soundtrack - playing, arranging and recording the music.
You’ll have noticed the words Albert Einstein close to Dave’s right hand. That’s because he’s standing in front of the window of a library and blocking out part of the inscription*. It was unintentional on my part - and lazy even - not to have moved him once I realised.
But now I think about it, perhaps it’s OK. Although he’s not going to rewrite the equations of space-time and relativity any time soon, he’s a very clever man.
Good luck Dave and thank you for the music.
* “The only thing you absolutely have to know is the location of the library”.
