Henrietta is Back!

This time with 21 friends and family members. They have been marauding about the place for a few weeks now. I can only assume that Henrietta has gone from her solitary existence in our garden looking for a mate to returning with her own brood and joining the rest of the flock that seem to come back here every year. There is only one, possibly two mature toms in this group. Apologies for the poor quality of this image, byt you get the just.

There is also a doe and her two fawns that cross our lawn, or what passes for a lawn, and make their way up the driveway next door to the open fields behind us. The fawns are losing their spots and becoming teenagers, beginning to show some independence from Mum.

All the usual group was assembled at Cafe Frida this morning, although Bob stayed only long enough to get a coffee to take with him to a tennis game. Spike and Trixie enjoyed their puppaccinos (we hung onto the cup this time) and we chatted about eco friendly laundry detergent, the changing political landscape and the trials and tribulations of growing tomatoes. We are about to assemble again shortly for one of our patented pot luck appetizers for dinner evenings at Gail and Bob's. I'm taking bay shrimp in endive leaves and Blipper Mima's Fromage Fort. What a great way to use those last bits of cheese in the back of the fridge. Thanks for the recipe, Mima.

It's a nice way to begin the weekend....
