Choosing Joy

Today's blip is really an miniature ode to the Paris Olympics. I've been captivated from the start from the wonderfully chaotic, eccentric and very French opening ceremony held on and alongside the River Seine in the pouring rain through to sports I've never really watched before such as skateboarding, BMX riding, taekwondo, beach volleyball, rugby sevens and triathlon to name just a few held in or next to such iconic venues as the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais, Place de al Concorde, Stade de France and Chateau De Versailles showing off Paris in all its glorious magnificence. What a backdrop!
Even the notoriously taciturn Parisians seem to have embraced it all with a real sense of joy and pride in their city so when I turned over the lid of this old gift box and saw this French exhortation which translates as "Yes, now more than ever, joy is what we need, Choose joy!" it felt perfect for my blip!
