Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Leitz Summitar 50mm
I had some time this morning to go down to the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, Boston's first serious attempt in 1887 at a community water supply. In the background is the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum, containing the pumping station to disperse the water. As I'm looking at the website, I see a near-future Blipedition to photograph the engineering delights contained in that beautiful building. The little community of cormorants was kind enough to provide some foreground interest. A hazy day; mono was best for the scene.
