I love that birds hang out in my garden, including in my trees. They hang out in the ground garden and in the deck garden. I have two woodpecker types that visit. One is the size of a sparrow. Both that type and a sparrow are in the picture.

Ukraine has destroyed a strategically important bridge over the river Seym. The bridge was used by the Kremlin to supply its troops. 
It sounds like Ukraine is hoping to take many prisoners to exchange for their people and land that they can swap for a return of their land. They have 2000 prisoners and 400 square miles. 
Penny Pritzker’s family fled Ukraine in the late 19th century from the violence of the anti-Jewish pogroms. For the last year she has been President Biden’s special envoy for Ukraine’s reconstruction. Her one year term is ending but her impact is described as monumental. “She is very direct, she is to the point, and she’s very much goal-oriented, which is to say, she’s no nonsense, and she identifies the problem, and then she solves it,” said Ben Harris, who worked with Pritzker during the Obama administration and is vice president and director of the economic studies program at the Brookings Institution.
Russian state television aired film director Mr. Karen Shakhnazarov on a political talk show this week. "On TV, we're always showing Ukrainians who don't want to fight. But now we can see: they're fighting well. And they're highly motivated. Why are we kidding ourselves?"
