A bright re-birth
Although back in 2009 I was , as Culture Minister , involved in the early discussions about Scottish Government support for the V&A in Dundee, I have never actually been able to go and see it since it opened in 2019.
Cathleen and I rectified that today, and it is a stunning building, with some wonderful permanent exhibits and - at the moment - an amazing temporary one on the Kimono.
This is the view when leaving the building, enhanced today by the sunshine and showers that seem to typify this current summer. It is really encouraging to see how the whole area has been transformed by the far sighted development of the V&A and it must be a lesson to other places particularly as Scottish cities rarely make as much of their waterfronts as they should.
I have also posted a few extra photos of it, and of the Discovery exhibition next door.
