His nose grew longer

The next village to us, Long Marton, was holding a Scarecrow Festival today, so we thought we would go along and support it. Sadly there were very few scarecrows, although this one was amazing. The theme was 'Films' so this was perfect. 

I think it's the first time they have held such a Festival although there are several in other villages around. I suppose it takes a while to establish such an event and get more people participating.

Joanne thinks they have found a Holy Well in Cork - I was a little scornful, but it turns out that the pub was built on the site of a monastery and the monks used water from a well for brewing. Hopefully our expert in these matters will clarify!
