Moss eared cross

Who doesn’t love an atmospheric graveyard and at Chawton this afternoon amongst the tousled ground, we had it all. Beautiful memorials, lichen covered stones and a wonderful countryside backdrop . Even the sun and shadows were perfect. This churchyard holds the graves of Jane Austen’s mother and sister and a statue of Jane herself is looking in the direction of her own house. Nice.
