A Perfect Day
Such a beautiful day with so many lovely pictures that i don’t really know where to start but on the basis that you never get tired of looking at pictures of your beloveds I thought it was good to put a pic of people not things. It was a bit of a military operation mind.
I went to Pilates first thing and then picked up B/C and Ivy and Leo from the station. The children were so happy to be out out in the garden and the sun shone all day. They were over the moon when Rory turned up as well. For Ivy (and Woody) he went straight to number 1 and she asked to be with him as much as possible. V picked up Mum and brought her back to lunch. Rory has four more days of a driving ban (speeding) which he has largely dodged by filming abroad.
We had the sweetcorn, a big shepherd’s pie with runner beans from the farm shop and strawberries with a raspberry sauce. We just sat in the garden in the afternoon, which delighted all ages. Rory put up his hammock, bought from a French outdoors website whilst he was filming on Guadeloupe and it was so brilliant I promptly bought one as well. £30! And it fits perfectly between our two native willow trees.
The children not surprisingly skipped a nap but were fun and engaged until Ivy fell asleep on top of Beetle lying on the lawn . I took them back to the station at about 4.30. Ivy is finding staying away from home very difficult at the moment, mainly for medical reasons (she has Downs) so staying over is tricky. We’re all going to France in two weeks so hopefully things will have settled a bit.
Blissfully Rory stayed on and we rolled out the pizza oven and sat in the candlelit summer house until it got dark and chillier.
