An Avid Lensman

A Room...with a Ruin.

My last entry from Southampton attempts to show how, even in the city centre, due to Luftwaffe bombing in WWII, there are pockets of the old shouldering the brand new.

Not that either of these buildings are pre-war, of course but the juxtaposition between the new high-rise block of apartments and the derelict warehouses below appealed to me. On close inspection, it seems that the closed-down night-club is all that is left of any kind of life here and one would probably feel somewhat uncomfortable waiting for a bus at the bus-stop (far bottom right - look CLOSER).

Lens is Tamron SP 70-300mm f4-5.6 VC

My enjoyment of the sunshine has let me lapse my commenting on some journals of late, I promise to rectify this later this evening and possibly tomorrow too.
