Keeping One Street Clean

Meet Paul Lorenz and Steve Connolly who together co-own Lorenz Canal Services and who have been keeping the Bridgewater canal free of water bourn debris, that others carelessly throw away, for over 30 years.

Their 50 foot boat Leo, known affectionately as The Water Womble, was built in 1947 by British Waterways as a maintenance craft. It has been fitted with a couple of skips to make the collection and removal of the rubbish easier.
