Wood Pigeon
One of a pair of very amorous wood pigeons in mum's garden. She actually is overrun with them.
The average lifespan of a woodie is three years, the longest longevity record is just under eighteen years but most youngsters die in their first year of life. Studies have shown that they can recognise themselves in a mirror which is an 'indicator of cognitive ability'. This may be the case but although being quite handsome just don't do it for me generally.
Mum had the stitches out of her knee this week and seems to be recovering well. We've had a lovely evening just chatting.
