Hummer wars are still on

This is the juvenile male that thinks the feeder is his now that the adult male appears to have left. He valiantly chases off the female and other juvenile male that keeps trying to get to the feeder. The three shots are 3 of his 4 favored perches - the top of the feeder in the mai shot, a nearby tree and the flower stalk of a host. The fourth on is the electric wire across the street. The chase was on today as he coursed back and forth across the yard after the intruders and chased them into the neighbors trees and back. He also just sits non the feeder and watches  more than he eats. We are amazed at how much energy they expend guarding their food source.It is fun just watching these feisty little bullets whizzing around.
