a new bee

This was tough ! Seek couldn't get further than Mellissodes genus , so I looked up the genus and added NY. Came up with this! They apparently feed almost exclusively on sunflowers (and I found it on my false sunflowers). It looked like a bumble bee  and is apparently in the same family , but it was a lot smaller than a common Eastern bumble. It has blue eyes ! They are referred to as long horned bees as the antennae on the males are way longer than this , which suggests this is a female. The other sunflower bee males have green eyes and the females have blue eyes. I am glad it stayed there long enough for me to go get the camera.
