War Memorial Cleaning
A couple of months ago I blipped the village war memorial - it was awaiting restoration.
Most of the cleaning and repairs have now been done. The brass is looking better and the stonework really glows now.
The wrapping is to protect the surface while cleaning is done to the delicate inscriptions. I guess there is some sort of slow acting (?biological) cleaning agent at work.
This will need to stay on for a while yet (apparently).
So….. still a work in progress but it looks so much better.
I managed to poke my camera through a corner of the fence…but still struggled to get it all in shot at the widest angle!
There are moves afoot to try and get parking prohibited around the memorial - hopefully the fence posts won’t get knocked over so often!
