"The Ayes Have It"

The optician said yes and the ophthalmologist said yes. Or, in this case, the eyes have it. Have what? A cataract, in each.

The Man went back to his optician a couple of weeks ago to say that he was thinking his cataracts had got to the stage of needing to be dealt with. The left eye was certainly ready for the op. Today we went down to Kendal to the SpaMedica eye hospital for a pre-op assessment.

The Man did not want a cataract operation, he certainly didn't want two in quick succession but that is what is to happen when we come back from our boating holiday. He could have had the first op very soon but there has to be complete rest for a while afterwards to prevent any stress on the eye. Certainly not opening lock gates, and I didn't want to drive down to Staffordshire and back.

So, the "beautiful lady" in his eyes could be me, not adhering to my "wear black for portraits" policy, but it is definitely belladonna widening his pupils.
