At the Barbican
Today I went swimming and the grandchildren plus my daughter also came to the pool. We went at 8.45 and had the pool to ourselves for a while! Good to see their swimming is improving.
Later I went with a friend to the Barbican. We had lunch in an old traditional, unmodernised Fullers pub which was nice. Then to see “Kiss me Kate” staring Adrian Dunbar. A great production with good music and orchestra too. Some brilliant routines with the whole cast singing and dancing. We only got tickets recently and had front row of top gallery …very cheap and a good view. I did take binoculars to see the actors faces more clearly at times!
We felt the Barbican is looking rather tired and a bit shabby…temporary cubicle toilets were not great ..upgrades to plumbing going on. The theatre was very dark we could not see the seat numbers without using our phones!
Found there was a bus back to Waterloo which was better than the hot tube and nice to sit on top deck and look around..St Pauls , the Strand etc.
