Tree says 'Summer's Over'?

Cloudy and breezy day. It was quite bright for the lunchtime walk. Grey views. And nothing catches my eye to photograph. Not even the flowers.

A couple of light rain showers in the afternoon before the real rain arrives at 3pm. There is a wee gap at 4pm, so partner and I go for a walk. Photo shows a tree in the park in the light rain. I am not sure if the yellow is new growth, or the tree deciding that summer is over. We get to Braidburn Valley park when heavier rain appears, so we take the short route home.
