Bossy Boots

This is Woody the Wilful, a regular woodpecker every morning at our bird feeder.

He pushes away with an unceremonious sharp jab of his beak those small birds who dare   to venture on what he regards as his territory.
The siskins, bluetits, great tits, chaffinches, and goldfinches flutter away, waiting dutifully until he has had his fill then they rush in.

As for the weather today, it's atrocious.  Sigh. Global warming. Regular flood alerts come in almost daily so now I just ignore them. Because we live on a hill it doesn’t affect us. But for those in the village especially in the vicinity of the allotments, an are prone to flooding because of its close proximity to the river Forth which is tidal, it is a real and daily concern.
