A Successful Walk Around the Home Place
Since we will be away for 12 days starting on Friday, my sister and I decided to spend the day with our mother. Hubby had a follow up cardiologist appointment or he would have come down to help our BIL. Before my sister arrived, I pulled weeds out of a flower garden. The “no see ums” were viscious so I quit when it was almost finished. Our BIL got rid of my weeds and filled his truck with wild bushes he cut that were growing in Momma’s shrubbery. My sister cleaned most of the house. I did the kitchen. There were bank statements and other important paperwork on the counter so I found the file box hubby set up for our mother and helped her file them. She couldn’t locate her check books and it totally stressed her out. Hubby helped her order new ones last week. We found two books of checks today during our cleaning. She was truly thankful for our help. I keep telling my children that they will be in our shoes one day soon if we live as long as our mother. They promise they will help us. Everything looked sparkly and organized when we finished. We ate the sandwich ingredients my sister brought for lunch. She got Momma a nice bowl of potato soup. Before leaving Ridge, I walked around Momma’s property. There were many butterflies and sunberry clearwings (hummingbird moths) enjoying the flowers. The garden spider had made its big web above the hibiscus. The bee on the black eyed susan was cute. Nature certainly provides a beautiful variety of flowers and insects. I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few cleaning supplies we noticed our mother needed. I will take her shopping tomorrow if she makes a list. Hubby vacuumed and mulched trees after his appointment. His stress test and echocardiogram results were “perfect”. Renee is furnishing another couple meals for tonight and tomorrow. We were both tired after our cleaning escapades. Hoping you found some free time tonight. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.” ~ Aristotle
