Blurred memories

Are memories real? Or are they "conjured" by what we think should be memories?
I thought I remembered staying in a caravan like this when I was very young. 
Perhaps.
Wiki says "Basically, no memory you have depicts reality as it was. What you will have is around 90 to 95% correct details in about 60% of all your memories. There is around 5 to 10% of your memories which are completely wrong."
