Ice cream (and Doc Martin)
Today we decided to pick up our walk where we left off on Sunday. This time we went from Port Quin to Port Isaac via the coast path. Much more challenging than the previous section so I had to reward myself with an ice cream when we got there. This was one of the best ice creams I have had. Ever. It was a blackberry and apple crumble flavour with bits of crumble on the top. Yum! And as that wasn't going to be enough to cool me down I also had a scoop of 'Cornish cream tea' with bits of scone in. Double yum.
Anyway, turns out this Port Isaac is some place they film a well known TV programme (which I have never seen), Doc Martin. They were filming today on the beach and the TV set is the backdrop to today's picture (couldn't let it steal the show from the tasty ice cream!). I told hubby what little I knew about this programme, i.e. it has Martin Clunes in. It's only when we passed a picture of Martin Clunes as the Doc that the penny dropped for him what I meant. He was picturing George Clooney! Bless him, he's not one for "celebrities." Made me chuckle.
Then we headed back to Port Quin via the much easier inland route. Popped to the beach for an evening swim but were thwarted by the jellyfish soup that has appeared in the sea so now we are back at the cottage listening to some music and having a refreshing glass of sparkly stuff. Why not, we are on holiday!
