Cloudy and grey for
our morning start - we could have
a thunderstorm yet

It was a grey sunrise. I was out on Mission Flats taking my first photo of my mountains at 6 AM. It was a pleasant 15 C when I stepped out of my car.

I caught movement along the railway tracks so I pulled over to find two does with two fawns. I was only able to catch one quick shot as a doe moved along the underbrush. The four quickly climbed up the hillside and were gone. Their colouring makes them difficult to track.

I drove to the end of the road to get the long view looking west to the delta. All was very quiet this morning.

I turned my car around to head for home. I looked up to the trees along the river to find one eagle had perched since I'd passed a few minutes earlier. I am always well-pleased when I discover an eagle on my jaunt.

I've got errands to run this morning so I'm thankful for a cooler day. This afternoon will find me back with the paperwork.
