2024 Tuesday — Evening Shoreline

After a very warm day, the high was 76°F, which is definitely warm for here on California’s Central Coast, we decided to take the pups to the shoreline for a casual stroll near the Cayucos pier. The beach was void of people. That seems strange to me in mid-August; schools have already started their new term.

When our children (now 58 and 55) were youngsters, school would resume the second Monday in September. In those days in Southern California we never found beaches void of people in August. But that’s what we saw as we strolled.

Earlier in the day we drove south to the community of Arroyo Grande to shop at Trader Joe’s and Parable bookstore.
