Going out to the start

Took Firefly on her first race today. It was quite a good breeze 15 minutes before the start and got steadily stronger and more gusty. Definitely at the top end of our capabilities but the boat did well and we didn’t break anything. We had an interesting race against a Hunter and it was quite close at the end. If we hadn’t missed the last buoy and had to go back we’d have trounced them……T seemed to enjoy it and I reckon he could become a convert! Amazingly the gov came too and took an active pert (part?)  in the proceedings as a winch tailer . She did good as well.
