Dormouse a first for me

Went for a walk with a friend who works as an ecologist, but in her spare time she has been trained to work with dormice and is now fully licensed to handle them. She looks after and monitors 50 nesting boxes near Helman torr and said I could join her to check a couple. The first was empty, but in the second had this little male dormouse in it. He had a comfy little nest made mainly of stripped honeysuckle.
We went on to walk the dogs on the common ground hoping to see some evidence of the beavers that have established themselves there, but nothing seen. The dogs had a great time with their old friend Ava
