Abstract Shapes

I thought that I'd blip part of one of our staircase spindles for Ingeborg's "Abstract Shapes" challenge this week - no fartnarkling necessary!

We do like our beautiful, well-seasoned spindles. When we moved here 39 years ago they were coated with a dark varnish which didn't really suit them, so my Editor set to work to strip them all and then oil the lovely wood. As there's almost 100 of them (right up to the attic) it was a labour of love, and almost drove her bonkers (although the most bonkers thing she ever did was to marry me, Lol!). However it was well worth it (the spindles work I mean, it's up to her to say whether marrying me was worth it!) - they still look great - the grain is really fab..
