Hazelnuts

We have a hazel tree in our garden, but I can't remember seeing the nuts in previous years.  Perhaps the local squirrel population get to them first!

It was a working day, before visiting L's mother to celebrate her 84th birthday.  Sadly the conversations get more difficult each time we visit, as the dementia progresses, but she at least seemed to enjoy the company and small birthday cake that had been bought for her.
