Yellow Rose with Hoverfly

An afternoon with Kanyl before going out for a meal to celebrate his *) a lot of years plus two birthday.  We chose Grant's of Castlegate as the venue.  A lovely meal in a pleasant ambiance with attentive service, very good.

The rose is from Kanyl's garden.  It is on a very strong new shoot coming from below ground.  We have been wondering if the rose was grafted and this would be different from the established rose.  However so far it seems the same if it isn't the stock must be a virtually identical variety.  I didn't pay much attention to the Hoverfly but it appears to be probably a Marmalade Hoverfly.
