FLOWER FRIDAY
You know that I do like to show the growing stages of some of our flowers, and I have been keeping a careful eye on our Rudbeckias - also commonly known as Black Eyed Susan or Cone Flower.
Our lovely neighbour, Lynn, gave Mr. HCB some plants earlier this year and these were put into a bed just outside our conservatory. Many of the other plants in our raised beds didn’t do too well, but these have been wonderful and give a glorious riot of colour. Sadly, the same cannot be said of the Cosmos, which did so well last year, but this year, like many other plants, have struggled.
It rained very hard and was very windy overnight, so I went out thinking I would be fortunate to get three blooms just as I wanted them, but I managed it. Here they are in Mr. HCB’s little vases that he uses to propagate plants and I was pleased with the result.
I took out the background using my PhotoRoom app and then used my PhotoCollage app to put a white and then a black border around the three specimen buds and flowers.
I did absolutely nothing all day yesterday - and in case you are wondering, I didn’t bother to get dressed, but today I am dressed and raring to go - I have decided to declutter my wardrobe and give it a good clean - but nothing too strenuous and of course, there will be coffee breaks!
Mr. HCB has gone off to cricket and I hope the weather is kinder than it was yesterday - it was an “in and out” kind of day, with quite heavy showers and then they went off at about 5.30 for bad light. Sadly, there was a serious accident on the M32 so it took him almost 2 hours to get home for a journey that should only have taken just under an hour. He has plenty of layers on though, all his wet weather gear, and plenty of food, so hopefully, even if the weather is inclement, he will have plenty to eat!
Hope you all have a great weekend - stay safe and dry! M xx
P.S. I spent the afternoon yesterday writing on 100 hearts - see extra - ready to give them out at the Community Fun Day next Monday - I will be in the Prayer Tent, so hope to get lots of opportunities to share these. The words above and below are part of a Children's song we will be singing on Sunday morning, when we have a Dedication Service.
