Half Deef!

At the ear, nose and throat doc today to see what's going on in my right lug. I've been largely deaf on that side for nearly a month. Saw an urgent care doc within a couple of days - he thought it was an infection and gave me anti-biotics. It appears he was wrong - some sort of virus apparently came and went leaving inner ear swelling which may or may not be reversible. On heavy duty drugs with a f/u in 3 weeks. Fingers crossed.

It's not all bad - it provides a great excuse for all sorts of inattention.

These are some if the tools of his trade - note the carefully located ampule if smelling salts in case it's all just too much to take.
