Caerlaverock

Mr P and I unexpectedly woke up to blue skies and sunshine this morning (no sign of Storm Lilian). Once we’d had our breakfast, we drove to the nearby Caerlaverock Castle and Nature Reserve. We found out that it’s the only moated, triangular castle in the world! We also walked down past the original castle to the Solway Firth.
On our way home, we stopped off for a very late lunch (our big breakfast had filled us up) at the new Wee Crook Cafe in Tweedsmuir (worth a visit).
