 .......... Friday23_2024  (FF23_2024)  -  more like Autumnal Leaf Friday - in August!!!   Still, the early sun made for a nice display in this corner of the garden.

Cobwebs ......

With all the high winds we've had the rest of the garden/grass is covered, not only in leaves, but apples!  Plenty left on the trees though.

Had to take Whisper to the vets this afternoon - he's having ear issues - not the vet we've seen in the past but a locum - wow, he was ROUGH and seemed to have very little empathy with the dog and his people-skills were a little lacking too.   
Poor Whisper yelped and screamed (can dogs scream??) as he was subjected to a thermometer up his bum, an injection in his upper back (not his neck? weird) and his ears were cleaned (savagely, to my eyes), washed out with copious amounts of solution and then, seemingly, squirted with something that has to be left in there - I mustn't clean his ears for ten days ........ a bottle of tablets with complicated instructions and a bill for £149 (US$ 190) as I walked out the door!  
A very large ouch for the poor boy and a smaller one for my pocket!!

A very dis-spirited Whisper came home and was a sad boy for most of the evening - I am left feeling guilty for putting him through it but hope the treatment does the trick and it's worthwhile in the longer run.
