“The day that the rain came down …..’

I’m looking out the window and singing …..  “Mother Earth was crying ….”

Anniemay has her phone in her hand; “Wrong; she was smiling, not crying”.

Me, in an interrogative manner, because this is not what I remember; “why is she smiling?”

Anniemay; “because the lilacs were blooming ..” 

Lilacs? I have absolutely no recollection of any lilacs or what they happened to be doing at the time it rained.  I can’t even remember who sang it.

Anniemay; “Helen Shapiro - 1962”.  

She plays it on her phone.  Fair enough. You can’t argue with what you read on the internet, can you?
