Wildlife from my window
Two subjects today to continue what has this week become, a little series of ‘wildlife from my window’.
The extra was taken first, through the closed window of my downstairs sitting room, of a little dunnock. We rarely see birds in the front garden but the heavy rain must have caused the grubs to surface from in between the paving and the dunnock was happily scooping them up.
The main was taken a short while afterwards. I was having my breakfast in the back porch and heard the magpies calling the alarm. I (and Leela) have learnt that this means there is a fox in the garden. Sure enough, sniffing around under the bird feeder was this beautiful creature. I took the photo from the upstairs sitting room window having dashed upstairs for a better view, but as the windows creak so badly, I scared it away. It did give me a wonderful look before it jumped over the wall and disappeared.
