A rainy day
As forecast, we woke up to rain and it has rained all day. I knew that Xena would not be happy about walking in the rain, but we had to get out and there was no break in the rain at all. I put on her raincoat and off we went, and she did not mind it so much once she got going. Everything was wet and glistening and you can see the bracken here starting to turn as we approach autumn.
We had lunch at home, Gavin and I had spicy tuna on sourdough (GF for me) and watched as Tommy made himself the most enormous salad with a good quality steak cut into strips which he added to the salad - it did look delicious!
I caught up on more admin today and ordered some camera stuff that Gavin is buying me for my birthday next week (a gimbal for wildlife photography being one of the orders).
I have planned a BBQ for supper tonight, and this morning Tommy and Gavin thought it was a crazy idea in the rain, but the forecast said it would be sunny at about 5pm which was not very believable looking out the window and seeing the non-stop rain falling. At 4.45pm the sun came out and now it is beautifully sunny and dry, what a perfect end to the day! Perfect for a BBQ :)
Tomorrow morning Inca arrives back from South Africa where she has had the most incredible experience doing a vet placement on a game farm, working with cheetah, wild dogs and other exciting species.
We always thought that the Bayesian yacht accident looked like it was due to human error, as a sailor Gavin found some of the decisions made by the captain quite irregular. Now it seems the authorities are considering whether 'offences were committed'.
