New hanging

I felt a little washed up (and out) this morning, after a reasonably late night, what with yesterday's evening's comings and goings. I was in touch with the two swimmers who were involved in the RTA. They are ok, but the car is a write off. Somebody who was involved in the accident decided to drive away. Some people were not so fortunate and departed the scene in road and air ambulances. Fingers crossed for the injured parties.

As a result of feeling washed up, I took it easy this morning, and didn't even get dressed until about 10am. We had to go to the butcher's to sort out some meat for a meal Mr A is cooking on Monday. Thereafter, I spent a bit of time out in the garden, finishing off the digging over of the side garden bed that we've been working on, and since it's such an enormous bed I dropped a few pieces of broken slab on there as improvised stepping stones. If we have sufficient flat stones left, I will replace the slabs in due course.

The main fun of the day was going to an outdoor sculpture exhibition called HABITATS at Cadboll House, Glenmorangie's luxury guesthouse out on the peninsula. It has a glorious situation, with distant views of the sea down the hill, across fields being harvested, towards Balintore and Shandwick (see extras one and two). I've gone a bit overboard on the extras as the art in the beautiful gardens is singularly the most aesthetic thing I've seen in quite a while.... The main blip is a cyanotype hanging that Mr A has treated us to. It should be fine to hang outdoors (although we won't leave it out when we are not here). The artist is @braw_artworks on instagram for anyone interested.

We went for dinner at The Inver Inn - for probably the last time before it closes for the winter, which is sad. The future is somewhat uncertain for this hostelry, which we really regret. We sat over dinner contemplating where we will be putting the various bits of outdoor art we will soon be moving up from the Edinburgh balcony. And a stone trough. The light was fabulous over Inver Bay, both just as we'd parked up (extra), and then as we drove home with amazing light on Tain Hill. Feeling very privileged to be able to spend time in this special place.
